ROULETTE TIPS AND BETTING IN CASINOS

A FEW MUSINGS YOU MAY WISH TO LEARN FROM

In my travels over the last 14 years I have come across many situations and many different characters. Here I will try to relate some of them and ask you to defy gravity and answer some of them to yourself….not to me please!

Most I have no answer to. Most I don’t think I could understand the answers to.! Please treat this page as an exercise on life and silly gamblers. If it helps that’s great…..if not, you have lost nothing.

I remember one night in the early days meeting two men who had lost more than they could afford playing roulette. Unlike most players these two impressed me with their knowledge of all things roulette.

For some reason I felt they were decent people and deserved some help. I took them to one-side and showed them part of my bet. I then took them to a table to prove the point. They followed me bet for bet and recovered all their losses for that day.

These were two educated gentlemen who travelled the world representing their respective companies at Trade Fairs. I will now give you future professionals a tip. I followed many Trade Fairs and Conventions because it meant I could get into a High Roller game with born losers and take more money without being noticed.

It also meant I did see these same gentlemen on many occasions. They never used the bet I gave them. They knew I won every time we met. They always lost. I KNOW OF NO ANSWER..DO YOU?

Those two gentlemen have now passed away. Until the formation of the ACETF no one else ever knew my bet.

Another thing I found out is that if you are a male winner you will most likely attract company from females!

You may think this is a lady that you can purchase for the night. In most cases you will be right, but she may well be allowed “to work” the casino in return for all the “information” she can, and will extract from you. She is an “expert” …and you’re not!!!!!

If you are a true professional you have been carefully secreting your profit. When this happens….you know the House is “watching” you and you are now being “set-up”

This ruse is widely used in the U.S.A. and has been exported to many other countries. Be careful….Very careful.

I could tell you a thousand stories about people in casinos who want to “talk” to you. For a “thousand” reasons….please don’t.

You will wish to fly in comfort. Buy “Business Class” and you can ask and get “First Class” as much as 90% of the time. The difference in quality is small, but the difference in price is huge. Over the year this can mean a great deal of money saved.
(My P.A. has calculated that over 13 years I saved about £800 Thousand pounds. If I had been an American @ an average of $2 to the £1 that would mean $1.6 million dollars)

I gave up trying to educate “gamblers” a long time ago. Do not waste your time or effort. Creatures of “losing” habits remain that way for life. Creatures of “winning” habits never stop learning.

Gossip about you? I have noticed that if you were relatively poor and come into money, others you know will be desperate to know how and where you got it from. If you tell them, they do not believe you….and if they “guess” they will guess wrongly or assume the worst.

Many problems can arise from that.

This is one situation you cannot win……unless you move.

If you are known to be wealthy no one cares or at worst will say “Money goes to money” Moving from poor to rich has its problems.

Opening nights and “Special Occasions” in casinos should be avoided. Photos and publicity are for their benefit. You do not need or want this. Keep away from “Celebrities” They will not help your future earnings. Easy to fall for……work and drink do not mix.

Roulette tables with loud people or mad Chinese punters, with no manners are a no-no. You do have to watch your bets. You are working….not playing. Make it easy on yourself.

Do not go street walking upon leaving the casino. Take only a taxi ordered by the doorman. Go to your hotel and deposit your cash for safe keeping. Then go for a stroll if you wish. Now you can enjoy the town or resort. Now you can talk to people. But never mention casinos.

I know I keep mentioning being careful. Please do not be put off by this. Being careful is your protection and is simply a matter of getting into good habits. Good habits will ensure you will enjoy your travels and see parts of the world others only dream about.

I have found that the biggests RISKS in life are not MONEY but the ability of a person to make a decision. Or put another way...the lack of any decisions other than to follow the crowd!.....and most of them are losers!!!
The world is full of uneducated, and worse, educated idiots.

Finally I must tell you that in over thirteen years I only lost a few bets stolen from the table, because I was NOT paying attention.
Only once did I have my room entered and some items (not money) stolen. I moved Hotels immediately because it was either hotel staff or someone with a master room code.

Just one more unusual story. I read with horror all the time of Airlines losing peoples luggage! I have never lost one single item.

May I claim at least the worlds record for that!
